Today, we’re excited to announce the release of MeasureXL portable CMM. We’ve been supplying 3D scanning equipment and specializing in Scan to CAD solutions for 20 years. It was a great opportunity to partner with Polyga to develop a cost-effective optical CMM that is efficient at taking measurements while giving you plenty of space to work in.
MeasureXL portable CMM consists of a wireless probe and a factory-calibrated optical tracker for an out of the box accurate tracking experience. There’s no need to calibrate the unit which makes it easy to set up and start taking measurements. The 3D digitizer measures wirelessly, giving you the freedom to measure. It doesn’t have any movement restrictions compared to traditional portable CMMs with articulated arms. MeasureXL uses a probe so it is not affected by environmental conditions such as lighting.
There are two ways to take measurements with MeasureXL:

MeasureXL Proprietary Software
Use MeasureXL software to measure and create:
- all types of 2D (arcs, lines, and splines)
- 3D geometry
- angles, distances, and points.
Results are displayed immediately inside the software as you probe. You can export all the data directly to IGES (CAD) or CSV (Text) for use in other software for industry applications including product design (reverse engineering) and scientific research (landmark studies).

Rhino 6 For Windows
Reverse engineering packages consisting of hardware and software have traditionally been quite expensive. What’s special about MeasureXL is that it is fully integrated with Rhino 6 for Windows CAD modeling software to create an affordable Scan to CAD solution. Data taken from MeasureXL shows up immediately inside Rhino 3D to create accurate CAD models in lesser time than designing them from scratch.
For existing Rhino3D users, MeasureXL is an efficient measurement probe for those who want to get started on reverse engineering without learning a new piece of software. For new users, MeasureXL and Rhino3D work great together as an affordable Scan to CAD solution that’s easy to use.
