This year, we thought it would be fun to scan Santa in 3D for the Holidays!
We used the Artec Space Spider handheld 3D scanner to capture a Santa statue in 3D. Once we captured all the scans we need, we used Artec Studio software’sAutopilot Mode to produce an accurate, watertight 3D model.
Check out the entire 3D scanning process from start to finish in about 6 minutes!
3D Scanning A Santa Statue
Artec Space Spider makes 3D scanning so simple as a point and shoot handheld 3D scanner. Using the Autopilot Mode inside Artec Studio, the software deletes any unwanted captured data, auto-aligns the scans with one click, and instinctively selects the most effective 3D algorithms to create a high precision 3D model. The Santa statue measures approximately 9 inches in height.
We also scanned a Christmas tree and a polar bear using the Artec Leo. This handheld 3D scanner is a self-contained device with its own touchscreen and has onboard automatic processing for truly mobile 3D scanning.
